7 Tips for Getting the Best Results From AI Text Apps

Have you jumped on the AI band wagon yet? As a tech geek, I have been playing with it ever since it started picking up speed in the marketing world.

Whether you love it, hate it, or are currently undecided, there is one known fact – AI is here to stay, and it is going to get more and more ingrained in just about every industry. There are AI tools for just about anything you need to do with your business marketing. You can create social media posts, outline webinars, outline signature programs, write blogs and articles, create custom images, translate your voice into different languages and so much more. It really is pretty cool when you think about it!

AI stands for Artificial Intelligence. It’s not human. It is a machine. A really super smart machine that is not only capable of answering questions you have, but also capable of learning. No, AI is not going to take over the world. It can, however, save you boatloads of time with a lot of your business tasks so you can focus on your core genius.

There are AI apps that help you sort through your email, automatically respond to messages, chat with prospects and more. Here are a few more cool facts about AI:

  • AI is Everywhere: From your smartphone’s voice assistant (like Siri or Google Assistant) to movie recommendations on Netflix, AI is all around us, making our lives more convenient.
  • Learning on the Job: AI can learn from experience. The more data it gets, the smarter it becomes. It’s like how we get better at things with practice.
  • Quick Thinker: AI can process information much faster than a human. It can analyze huge amounts of data in seconds and come up with insights that would take us hours or even days.
  • Versatile Helper: AI can be used in many different fields, from healthcare to finance, and yes, even in coaching and consulting!

For AI text apps like ChatGPT or Gemini, the key to using AI is in the prompting. What is prompting? It’s the information we feed into an AI app to get us what we are looking for. Personally, I tell my clients to “speak” to AI just like you were speaking to a live assistant.

Here are 7 tips when it comes to prompting:

  1. Tell AI who to be. There is a lot of information out there that AI can pull from. Start your first prompt by telling AI who they are acting as. “Act as if you are an expert in health and nutrition…”
  2. Tell them who the audience is. “…who works with female clients looking to lose weight over the age of 50.”
  3. Be Clear and Specific: Just like when you ask a friend for help, make sure your request to AI is clear and specific. “Please (I always say please!) suggest 10 topics for Facebook posts that have to do with the food we eat…”
  4. Give Context: Provide any specific key points you want it to include. “…specifically, the right foods and the wrong foods.”
  5. Give it the tone you expect. I.e.: “The tone is casual.” Or “The tone is professional.” Etc.
  6. Use Simple Language: AI understands plain and simple language best. Avoid using complex words or jargon. I find that when I tell AI to provide the results in a seventh grade reading level, I get exactly what I am looking for.
  7. Test and Tweak: Sometimes, you might not get the perfect answer on the first try. That’s okay! Think of it as a conversation where you and the AI are working together to find the best solution. If you need something tweaked, just ask your assistant!

Example
: “Act as if you are an expert in health and nutrition who works with female clients looking to lose weight over the age of 50. Please suggest 10 topics for Facebook posts that have to do with the food we eat specifically, the right foods and the wrong foods. The tone is casual, and the reading level is seventh grade.”

Here is part of the real response from ChatGPT to this prompt:

Sure! Here are 10 Facebook post topics about the right and wrong foods for women over 50 looking to lose weight:

1) Superfoods for Super Women Over 50

Highlight foods like blueberries, spinach, and salmon that are nutrient-packed and great for weight loss.

2) Say No to Sugar: The Hidden Dangers in Your Favorite Snacks

Discuss how sugary snacks and drinks can hinder weight loss and suggest healthier alternatives.

3) Fiber: Your Secret Weapon for Weight Loss

Explain the benefits of high-fiber foods like beans, oats, and berries, and how they help you feel full longer.

If the response works for you, and you need more, simple ask. For example, for Facebook posts, you will want an image that represents the topic. So now I will ask, ”Please suggest an image to go with each of these topics.”

Here is what ChatGPT gave me for the second prompt:

Of course! Here are image suggestions to accompany each topic:

1) Superfoods for Super Women Over 50

Text AI tools are very versatile. They can help you do research, come up with ideas for blogs or article, topics for posting, even business names and just about anything else you may want to find. And…AI does it way faster than a human can!

AI is like having a really smart assistant who is always ready 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days of the year to give you exactly what you re looking for as long as you know how to talk to it.

If you are new to AI, pop onto ChatGPT’s free version and just start playing around. You may be very surprised at what AI can do for you!
