Yeah. Me too.
AI is everywhere right now, and honestly, it is hard to ignore. I love a lot of what it can do. It saves time, sparks ideas, and handles the stuff that used to eat up my whole afternoon. But somewhere in the middle of all that efficiency, it’s easy to lose sight of why we do this work in the first place.
We’re not here to automate. We’re here to help people.
Why People Will Always Be the Heart of Business
Here’s something I remind myself of often: your clients are not looking for the most tech-forward coach or consultant in the room. They’re looking for someone who gets them.
They remember how you made them feel during a tough conversation. They remember when you said exactly the right thing at exactly the right time. They remember when you showed up for them – not your chatbot, not your scheduling tool, and not your AI-generated email. You.
No tool on the planet can replicate that. And that’s actually great news.
Because what makes you valuable isn’t your productivity stack; it’s your story, your perspective, and the genuine care you bring to every client relationship. The human side of AI is really just this: AI helps you do more, but it can’t be you.

So how do you use all these tools without losing what makes your business special? Here are the three things I come back to again and again.
Start with empathy. Before you open any AI tool, ask yourself one question: How does this help me serve my clients better? That question is your filter. If the answer is clear, great; use the tool. If you’re not sure, pause. Technology should solve real problems for real people, not just make you feel like you’re keeping up.
Keep your voice. Getting help with a first draft or brainstorming ideas? Totally fine. But your words, your stories, and your point of view need to come through in everything you put out. The moment your content starts sounding like everyone else’s, you’ve handed over the thing that makes you stand out. Don’t do that.
Get real feedback. This one is so simple and so easy to skip. Just ask your clients how things are going. Are they feeling more supported? More connected? Or are they starting to notice something feels a little off? Their answers will tell you more than any analytics dashboard ever could. Human feedback is the most valuable data you have.
What Happened When I Tried This Myself
If I am being completely honest, when I first started using AI, I was a little nervous. I worried my content would start sounding generic. I worried clients might feel like they were getting a watered-down version of me. And my brand is all about The Unicorn Factor®, about being unique, so I thought it was the complete opposite of everything I teach.
But something surprising happened. When I used AI to handle the busywork, the first drafts, the research rabbit holes, and the reformatting, I got time back. And I used that time to actually be with my clients. More conversations. More listening. More of the real stuff that made them feel seen and supported.
That’s when I realized AI wasn’t pulling me away from the human side of my business. It was actually helping me get back to it. That was when I completely embraced the power of AI.
That’s the real win.

AI is here to stay, and that’s okay. The coaches and consultants who will thrive aren’t the ones using the most tools; they’re the ones who stay the most human while using them.
So here’s your challenge for this week: pick one AI tool that saves you time, then take that extra hour and spend it on a real conversation with someone who matters. A client check-in. A coffee chat. A handwritten note.
Technology is the tool. You are the magic. 🦄
